If that’s not bad enough, we come a very discreditable fourth in the international table of countries where alcohol is a factor in road deaths. We are behind only South Africa, Canada and the USA in that respect.
Quite frankly, that is just not a league table that we even want to be part of, let alone pushing towards the top in.
True, it’s always possible to debate and argue about statistics. Even so, it’s clear that something needs to be done and steps are being taken in a number of different areas.
